Raised in the middle of the Alps between cows and lakes and educated at HEC Lausanne, Maxime Chatillon is both the person you want working on Growth/Business Development for your company, and the person you want to be travelling with (always taking pictures of everything) Yes! He’s a photographer. Before coming to Foodetective, Max studied Management at HEC Lausanne. He would also like you to know that he’s the inventor of the “Getting out of the friend zone“ perfect for — category and certainly the best Wing-Man you could have while going out.

You might have noticed that some stories have a polished look and are more compelling. You’re right, since the “Stories” came to instagram it had many new features. People also saw an opportunity to engage even more with their audience and document their time in a fun way.

Face filters, Stickers, Gifs, Swipe Up links… we all know them pretty well. However, there are some apps to take it even further. Here are two of them.

One completely free “ Pic Collage” and another free but with premium features “ Unfold”. You might have heard of the latter. It has become very popular amongst influencers.

With Pic Collage, there are no templates, it’s pretty basic but hey it’s free. I simply set a white background and add pictures and texts manually. Try it first before paying for Unfold.

The second one however gives you a free pack of templates when you download the app and with three additonal packs you can buy.

It’s fun to use and get creative with. The app is intuitive and the results are fun to see.

I find it more compelling than a “normal” story, more engaging and you can create your own look.

It works really well for foodies. You can share many pictures of your eating experience.

Essentially you’re curated your photos and adding text like in a food magazine and that’s fun.

I also recommend adding arrows, locations and other features to make it even more “alive”. Think about how your audience will see your story and how they can engage with you. Be sure to ask questions, give tips.

It’s all about love 💛 Bring them value first, give them insights. They’ll feel more inclined to engage after it.

You’re the foodie, you’re an expert with al things food, beverages and restaurants. Make sure to give your honest opinion and quirky infos.

Hope this article help ! We’re making one for our stories on @foodetective.co … stay tuned 👀 Let us know how your share your food pics on your stories by tagging us ! We’ll repost some of them 🏅

By registering on Foodetective, you’ll become two things: Smarter than the guys next you (unless he’s registered) and the person that people like to hang out with when looking for restaurants, bars and secret spots. (I’m just saying).
