Foodetective’s ambitious venture started in 2017. Looking back at the company’s first steps is essential in understanding its vision and in turn, its ultimate mission that still remains the same today; giving control back to restaurants in managing their business from a single platform.

Foodetective’s journey has taken a number of different steps, taking the Swiss startup from its humble beginnings (which began as an Instagram account for food reviews in Geneva) to the creation of an intelligent and centralised software, essential for all businesses operating across the F&B, Restaurant and Hospitality industry.

From a Casual Blog to an All-In-One Platform…

Before becoming the ear marked brand for innovation and shaking up the status quo, Foodetective was a Blog, simply named The Food Detective. It was here where Geneva’s best jaw-dropping pictures of dishes were being catalogued and reviewed. Even during these early stages, the concept of the all-in-one platform was beginning to take traction with Founders’ minds, Andrea Tassistro & Bernard Moret.

Palika Poké (Paris)

The audacious and ambitious idea began to build quickly from an entrepreneurial idea to a concrete goal to achieve; “we have to create a software that centralises all services on a unique platform” explained Andrea in 2017. He was conscious of the technologies out there and innovative solutions they provided to the market and this fed into his own idea and belief of Foodetective. Even this being said, Foodetective’s premise of servicing a centralised management system on a single platform was ahead of its time and to incorporate the Food Tech market was the next step.

The creation of The Food Detective SA

In 2018, Andrea Tassistro (CEO) and Bernard Moret (CTO) joined forces and created The Food Detective SA. Since then, the two young entrepreneurs have been building on their early vision of Foodetective, creating a technology that will centralise Food Tech services in their entirety in order for them to be managed and organised on one single platform by each restaurant owner.

Foodetective First Pitch (June 2017)

The past two years, Foodetective has been relentlessly working towards the creation of a V1 (First Version) of Foodetective. It is here where the recognised verticals that restaurants operate in have been formed and are fully functional. These include Bookings, Delivery & Take-Away, Catering, Privatisation, Reservations.

Partner Integration: The SaaS-Enabled Marketplace

With a fully functioning and operable SaaS solution for restaurants to use, Foodetective conceived their next idea. A universal Marketplace, where restaurants choose the services or software they need from each category listed in the Marketplace and have this as a centralised and personalised dashboard, unique to their business. Such verticals include Bookings, Deliveries, Stock Management, Food Waste Management, HR and many more. Foodetective will become the first centralised platform to have a No Code, Universal API and Integrated platform, being viewed from a single viewpoint.

Before embarking on this disruptive and innovative Marketplace, Foodetective will first initiate and form Partnerships with globally recognised brands across the Food Tech, Hospitality & Business Software space. These new Partners will be integrated into Foodetective’s Marketplace and can be selected by restaurant owners who wish to operate with said Partners.

The Future of Foodetective

Over time and thanks to these effective integrations, subscribers to Foodetective will be able to activate these services made accessible to them via the Marketplace. Activating all of these services needed by the restaurant, will enable each restaurant owner to now manage the totality of their restaurant via one single and customised dashboard, without using multiple iPads, logins and operating systems. The result? The industry’s biggest Time & Money Saver!

Now in 2020, Foodetective has realised its dream of creating a technology that centralises Food Tech services in their entirety onto one single viewpoint. Once the integrations process becomes standardised, Foodetective would have risen to the challenge first proposed by the two business owners of a fully functioning SaaS-Enabled Marketplace.

Foodetective is bringing about a real disruption into the Food Tech world and keeps doing it with ingenuity, passion and innovation. Since launching internationally across Europe and overseas, it has never been easier for Restaurants, Bars, Food-Trucks, Grocery stores etc to subscribe and enjoy the full benefits of Foodetective.
